LARE Prep Kick Off @ Nico's
My name is Julian Rosario and I'm the newest member in town. A little about myself- I graduated from the landscape architecture program at the University of California, Davis in 2014 and was working in the San Francisco Bay Area before coming to the 'aina in April. Early on this trip I met Joel Kurokawa and felt an instant connection to his practice. Along with the next two weeks of eating, surfing, stargazing, and eating, I was forced to make the move and happy to say, I started working at Ki Concepts in June.
Since then I've been practicing my pidgin and exploring land and sea until I came across other emerging professionals seeking licensure. We formed an LARE prep focus group to prepare us for the exams. Our first meeting was this past Wednesday, July 6th. We kicked it off with a pau hana at Nico's Pier 38, grindin on pupus and sippin on the finest drinks. Treating ourselves contributed to the intense brainstorming that followed. We set an outline for panel discussions, speaker series, study sessions, and resource sharing that will be invaluable to anyone aspiring to make that final jump to becoming a registered landscape architect. As someone new to the island, it was awesome just meeting other people with friendly vibes who share similar goals. If you're reading this it's not too late, come to our next event!
