2022 Hawaii Chapter ASLA / David T. Woolsey Scholarship Winner
The Hawai‘i Chapter is pleased to announce the 2022 recipient of the David T. Woolsey Scholarship: Christine Flauta! Congratulations, Christine! The Hawai‘i Chapter wishes you all the best in your future achievements in landscape architecture.
This scholarship was established in memory of David T. Woolsey, an alumnus of California Polytechnic University and former principal in the firm of Woolsey, Miyabara and Associates. It is meant to advance Hawai‘i landscape architecture students' education and professional development.
About Christine:
Christine has a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, and worked for the state of Hawaii, DLNR, under the Division of Forestry and Wildlife doing non-native plant management and forest restoration. She has enjoyed her work in conservation and hopes to intertwine her knowledge of ecology with her growing knowledge of landscape architecture. She is interested in the relationships between people and place and how people view their surrounding environment. During her free time, she loves being outdoors--mountain biking, hiking, and camping.
